The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord's favor has come (NLT)."  [Luke 4:18-19.]
Jesus announced his mission in Luke 4, and we continue his ministry today through...

Study Group

Our study group at Bell Chapel meets each week for the purpose of supporting and encouraging one another and for helping one another grow in their walk with the Lord. Our small groups provide a way to build stronger relationships with God and with others. Each week we continue to grow as a group as we visit, share, and discuss the weekend message.

Children’s Ministry

Our children’s ministry is a hugely important ministry at Bell Chapel, and it is one with many facets. We offer Sunday School Classes for kids of all ages. We also have fun spaces for toddlers and infants. There is of course our Vacation Bible School program each June as well. Raising the next generation in the faith is a high priority here at Bell Chapel.

United Methodist Women & United Methodist Men
The United Methodist Men and Women do a lot to connect our church to our surrounding community. They also provide many opportunities for the church to connect with one another, through various dinners, concerts, and studies.

Good Samaritans

The Good Samaritans serve much like the Samaritan mentioned by Jesus in the parable found in Luke 10. Just like the Good Samaritan, they respond to the needs of others with compassion and love. Our monthly food distribution and our clothing drives are just a few of the ways that the Good Samaritans minister to the needs of our community.

 Youth Ministry

At Bell Chapel, we look at our youth group of today as the leaders of the church of tomorrow. We mix in a lot of fun with our goal of preparing our teens for leadership in the church. Our youth learn to support one another, to serve in the ministry of the church, and to reach out to others, all in an effort to grow more and more in their life and faith. (Click here to visit our youth page.)

Busy Needles

The Busy Needles here at Bell Chapel have left many in our area with a tangible expression of God’s love. The prayer blankets that they create have been given to soldiers, infants, nursing homes, Hospice, and everyone in between. They seek to minister to people in the midst of any pain or joy, and to let them know that they are indeed being prayed for and cared for.

We have a vital visitation ministry here at Bell Chapel. Our pastors and our team of volunteers get out and visit the hospitals, the nursing homes, the homes of shut-ins, and everywhere else we are called upon to go in order to remind people that they are truly loved by God and by their church family as well. It is very important to us to make every effort to keep those who are sidelined, for whatever reason, connected with the church.

City Rescue Mission

The City Rescue Mission of Steubenville, Ohio is run by Bell Chapel’s Harry and Tracy Kellermier. The mission operates out of downtown Steubenville, and provides housing, food, clothing, and employment for those looking for a way to get back on their feet. Harry and Tracy are truly making an impact for Christ- connecting people with God and empowering them to get their lives back on track.  If you would like to get in touch with either Harry or Tracy at the mission, call 740-282-2452.

Prayer is the lifeblood of every believer, and is a vital ministry of every church. Bell Chapel is no different. We gather before Sunday morning worship, from 9:30 to 9:45, simply to spend time together in prayer.  Our pastors and our team of volunteers are always ready and willing to listen, to counsel, and to pray for those who need it. Prayer is a primary means of connecting with God and is a vital component of the ministry of Bell Chapel.

By definition, the church is a mission in and of itself.  All of our different ministries serve to pursue that mission.  Bell Chapel is embarking on a new season of commitment to and involvement in local and global missions. Jesus has called us to go out into the world and make disciples. We have vowed to do our part as we plan to take his gospel of love and hope to wherever he will call us to go.

Four Seasons Ministries

Four Seasons is a vision of Bell Chapel United Methodist Church to provide ministry and care to any and all age groups: to the four seasons of life.  The mission of Four Seasons is to meaningfully keep people connected with each other and the church.  Bell Chapel and Four Seasons continue to faithfully strive toward seeing this vision become a reality for the Ohio Valley

These are just a few of the many ministry opportunities here at Bell Chapel. There are a host of other ways to serve God, his church, and his world at Bell Chapel. If you would like more information about any of our ministries, please let us know! Call us, email us, or just stop by!
